Intermediate to Advanced Wet Canyon - Katoomba

Blue Mountains

Overview

On this wet canyon trip you'll have an adventure day you'll never forget. We start early and begin with a briefing which includes a gear check, what to expect and environmental issues. There is a 30 - 60 minute walk to the start. On the way you'll learn about the plants, animals and history of the area from your guides.

Before you know it, it's on with your wetsuits and into the action, negotiating your way through rainforests, caves, waterfalls and crystal streams via swimming, abseiling and walking. Snacks are provided along the way together with a healthy and nutritious lunch amongst a setting of King Ferns, Coachwood and Sassafras.

The walk out can sometimes be the most impressive part of the day with magnificent views and the thrill of the day to reflect on. The serenity and beauty of these fragile environments will soak in and stay with you.

Our intermediate canyons involve more abseiling, more jumps (these are optional) and small group sizes. An average level of fitness with good agility and some experience abseiling or indoor climbing is helpful, although we go over the basic techniques with all on the day.

Guidelines & Restrictions

We recommend you bring swimmers, shoes (that can get wet) which you'll wear through the canyon, warm socks (wool), hat, rain jacket, spare clothes and socks (for car), thermals (optional), 1-2 litres of water
